Hi, I’m Bhavna!
A 33-year-old currently living my best life in Doha, Qatar.
Some days I enjoy my breakfast in Spain, coffee in Italy and tea in London, crêpes in France, or a glass of wine in Austria, but most days, though, I’d still choose my own home-cooked meal—one that only I might enjoy at 30,000 feet above the ground, while away from base in Doha.
All this was once a dream. It hasn’t always been smooth and has often been met with turbulence, delays, and disruptions, but today I am proud to be one of the people who works in the sky and calls it my office.
My Background
The first time people meet me, they rarely guess where I’m from. Ethnically Indian but a third-generation Thai, I proudly introduce myself as Thai-Indian.
I was fortunate to grow up with the best of both worlds. I spent my school years in India, surrounded by the breathtaking Himalayas in Mussoorie, and traveling back and forth to Thailand during the holidays. Later, I completed my degree in Tourism Management in Bangkok, where I met people from all over the world. Having always been drawn to travel, choosing my major came naturally.
Girl graduated with big dreams. Passionate to earn and create her own identity…but nothing prepares you for the world ahead until you are ready to face it yourself!
Career
Post graduating, I searched for a career that would allow me to balance work and family life. During one summer, unemployed, I was offered a part-time role teaching arts and crafts to children. It was then that I discovered how much I loved working with young learners. That experience led me into schools, where I worked in administration before moving into Early Years and Primary Education. I remained in education while quietly pursuing my dream of becoming a Flight Attendant.
Sucess story
My first Flight Attendant interview was with Emirates in 2014; around the time I graduated. From then until March 2022, my journey was filled with failures, setbacks, moments of giving up, and finding the courage to try again. After nearly a decade of perseverance, I was finally offered a position with Qatar Airways.
Looking back, it took almost ten years to prove to myself that the vision I carried wasn’t an impossible dream, but a calling that was simply waiting for the right time.
Today, I continue to explore the world as Cabin Crew, while pursuing another dream—writing children’s books inspired by resilience, hope, and believing in yourself. Through this blog, I hope to share my travels, experiences, lessons, and stories with you. Whether you’re here for travel inspiration, life in aviation, children’s books, or simply a good story, I’m so glad you’re here.
